Sasquatch! Festival

 Although at one point in time, musical festivals were only for rock and roll bands, you can find a festival these days for just about any genre of music you are into.  For example, if you are a fan of the indie rock scene or have a penchant for terrific singer/songwriters, the Sasquatch! Festival might be up your alley.  In fact, even if you are a hip hop music fan, this festival has something for you.

 First started in 2002 by Adam Zacks, the festival takes place in the scenically beautiful George, Washington at the great Gorge Amphitheatre.  The event takes place on three different stages over a few days, meaning that the sheer number of acts performing is astounding and invigorating.  Although the lineup changes each year, some great acts that have participated in the past include R.E.M., Modest Mouse and the Beastie Boys.  Those groups together give you an idea of the diversity of sound at this festival.

Continuing with the theme of an eclectic variety of music, the acts scheduled for the event this year include Vampire Weekend, OK Go, Public Enemy, They Might be Giants, and She &Him.  The latter group features actress Zooey Dechanel as the "she" part of the group.  As you can see by just a fraction of the list of performers this year, this event has something for everyone.

The name of the festival comes from the fact that the legend of Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot, includes numerous sightings in the mountains of Washington near where the event is located.  It might be worth a visit not only to hear the great music, but perhaps to run into a Sasquatch.   If you want to attend this show, you should get your tickets now as they are sure to go fast.  You can see the event dates and buy tickets here on EventTicketDepot.
