Sarah Mclachlan

 One of the premiere female singers of all time, Sarah McLachlan is really in a class by herself.  Since she began her career, she has been consistently putting out high quality music, with a wonderful mix of melodies, her powerful voice, and wonderful lyrics that many people, not just women can relate to.  The founder and one of the first participants in the Lilith Fair Tours in the 1990s, she really takes her role as female empowering performer quite seriously.  She was inspired to create the tour given the music industries lack of putting female artists together for a tour and even on the radio in back to back songs.

 Born in Canada, yet McLachlan has embraced America as her own and her fans certainly cannot tell the difference had been born in the US.  In addition to all her fan support, she has also won two Grammy Awards, for her album Surface, and four Juno Awards.  Juno Awards are given to the best in the Canadian music industry and are prestigious awards in that country.

She has done many great albums in her career, including a greatest hits album and a Christmas album.  Her melodic voice really lends itself well to Christmas music and it was a natural fit for her musical talents.

Recently it was announced that Lilith Fair will be reemerging in 2010, after quite a long hiatus.  Having found a great deal of interest in the tour, McLachlan worked hard to select just the right acts that embody the purpose and meaning of the tour.
