Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr will also be known as a former member of The Beatles, no matter what other achievements he goes onto in his career.  Despite the fact that he has had tremendous success as an artist since the Beatles disbanded, people will always associate him with his former group.  In many ways that is not a problem for Starr, given that the Beatles are considered the top pop band in history by many.  It is much better than being continuously associated with a band that no one likes anymore.  To the contrary, Beatles music is played every day on the radio, in movies, and in television commercials.  To say that Starr has had an impact in the music world is putting it mildly.

Starr, whose actual real name is Richard Starkey, was born in England in 1940.  Thus, he was in his 20s during the height of the Beatles fame, which probably made it difficult to adjust.  One day he was just an ordinary young man from Liverpool and the next he was the object of desire of throngs of screaming girls.  Although best known as a drummer, he also sang lead vocals on many of the Beatles songs, including the immensely popular "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help from My Friends," the latter of which was the theme song to popular 90s television show The Wonder Years.

Starr released his 15th album this year called Y Not.  To promote the album he appeared on the talk show circuit, both in the United States and the UK.  The fact that he has been able to maintain success in both areas of the world for fifty years is astounding.

Ringo Starr will be touring to support his new album and will likely be playing a few of the old Beatles tunes during his shows.  If you want to see him live, there are tickets available here on EventTicketDepot.

Few artists can say that they have been successful in nearly every venture that they have undertaken for the last 50 years.  One person who can is singer Ringo Starr, who got his break as the drummer for the Beatles.  Starr never limited himself to just the drums, though, singing vocals on many of the bands tracks, including lead vocals on several of their hits.  This ability not to conform to one specific role in the band has helped him with his longevity.

Since the Beatles broke up in 1970, Starr has released 15 albums, started a record label, and toured the world many times over.  He has also appeared countless times on television and in the movies.  He has often been called the most recognizable Beatle because of the distinct look he has in that he always wears sunglasses.

Although Starr has performed a lot of solo material, he also often pairs with a band which he calls his "All-Star Band."  It has not always been the same members and, in fact, there have been close to a dozen different iterations of the All-Star Band.   The band members are not simply back-up for Starr, however.  Each member of the band is a great talent in his own right.  For that reason, at a concert each member of the band will be able to play some of their own music.  This is, of course, in addition to Starr's solo hits and some classic Beatles numbers.

Because of this unique way of holding a concert, tours of Ringo Starr and His All-Star band have been quite popular in the past 20 years they have toured.  If you want to check out Starr and his great band, you can get tickets here on EventTicketDepot.  It will be like the 1960s all over again for you and family.
