 Maybe Promises-Promises isn't the most profitable musical comedies to ever play on Broadway, but it's certainly one of the funniest. The musical, which was based on Billy Wilder's movie The Apartment, is the story about a man named Chuck Baxter who allows businessmen to have affairs in his apartment so that he can climb the corporate ladder. It just so happens that one of the men using Chuck's apartment is seeing a women who's the object of Chuck's affection, making for a sticky situation. Eventually the woman, Fran, falls in love with Chuck after he saves her life and she discovers his true feelings for her.
